The Effect of Mother Support Perceived by Multi-cultural Family¡¯s Adolescents on Achievement Objectives Orientation and Interpersonal Relationship Orientation the Mediating Effect of Self-esteem

Abstract

|
Objectives: This study examined the effect of mother support perceived by multi-cultural Family¡¯s adolescents on achievement objectives orientation and interpersonal relationship orientation and also verified the mediating effect of self-esteem, focused on multi-cultural family¡¯s adolescents.
Methdos: Statistics for data analysis were descriptive analysis, reliability and confirmatory factor analysis, and structural equation model. The results were as follows.
Results: First, mother support perceived by multi-cultural Family¡¯s adolescents significantly had a positive effect on achievement objectives orientation. Second, mother support perceived by multi-cultural Family¡¯s adolescents significantly had a positive effect on interpersonal relationship orientation. Third, the mediating effect of self-esteem on the relationship between mother support and achievement objectives orientation was found. Fourth, self-esteem also mediated the relationship between mother support and interpersonal relationship orientation.
Conclusions: The study is meaningful in that the subjects are multi-cultural family's adolescents. The implications were discussed.
